Bridges

Bridges are fixed prostheses which provide a replacement for missing teeth by utilising the adjacent teeth as anchors. Various types of bridge are available, and your prosthodontist will discuss the most appropriate type for you. In general, bridges are cemented in place, require 2 or more appointments, and ongoing maintenance. The average life expectancy for bridges varies depending on the type, and these will be discussed with you prior to treatment. Bridges can be supported by teeth or implants (see section on implants).
