Prosthodontics is part science, part art.

It is the specialist branch of dentistry which primarily deals with the restoration, protection, and replacement of teeth utilising a variety of materials and prostheses (fillings, crowns, bridges, implants, and dentures). Other areas of treatment which fall into the scope of prosthodontics include jaw problems (TMJ/TMD), aesthetics, and maxillo-facial prosthetics.

We aim to provide treatment which has the strongest evidence base in research, considered against individual factors which are relevant to you. All of our restorations and prostheses are customised to ensure that they are harmonious with you - your mouth, teeth, face, speech - after all, no individual is the same. We will treat you as you as a one-of-a-kind, because you are. As such, we employ both proven traditional and also state-of-the-art technologies which will produce the best result appropriate for your needs. We take great lengths to painstakingly reproduce details of colour, form, shape, and anatomy to ensure that your restoration is truly a part of you.

Part of the role of prosthodontists is also the management of complex cases which require the involvement of specialists of other disciplines, such as orthodontists, endodontists (root canal treatment), periodontists (gum treatment and implants), and oral surgeons. We work closely with our specialist and general dentist colleagues to ensure that your treatment is seamless and always in the best hands that Canberra has to offer.
